gyms and other activities would benefit teens
and keep them off the street and out of

Tribe, Casino enter float in Grand Floral Parade
The 1998 Grand Floral Parade is scheduled for
Saturday, June 6 for the third year in a row the
Grand Ronde Tribe and Spirit Mountain Casino
have entered a float in the parade.
This year's Rose Festival theme is "Ticket To
Adventure," and the Tribe's entry in the parade is
entitled, Adventures of the Spirit. Several tribal
members, Grand Ronde Royalty, and Veteran's
Royalty will ride on the float in full regalia. The

float's flower arrangements will include roses, car
nations, chrysanthemums, and gerbera daisies.
In 1996 and 1997 the Spirit MountainGrand
Ronde Tribe's float has won the Sweepstakes
Award, the top prize given out by parade judges.
Portland's Grand Floral Parade is the largest pa
rade west of the Mississippi, and will be televised
throughout the Western states. If you can't make
it to Portland this year, be sure to watch it on TV.
Parenting your Toddler
Bring your toddler to Chemeketa Community
College's class for parents and toddlers.
Topics we will discuss:
Everyday ways to help your toddler learn
Coping with tantrums
Balancing your toddler's needs and your needs
Helping your toddler feel lovable and capable
Raising a happy child in a stress-filled world
Come and enjoy the support and friendship of other
parents while you talk about parenting and play
with your toddler.
