8 Tribal Life Smoke Signals Fund-raisers: tribal youth to play football in England JEREMY HALLER and family are doing fundraising to raise some of the needed money to allow Jeremy to participate in the Oregon vs. England All-Star Football. Jeremy was offered this opportunity due to the selection of all league defense for the 1997-98 football year. Jeremy started playing football in the fourth grade. In Willamina they offer a Little Guy football program that includes full gear tackle football. Jeremy has played every year with the 97-98 season being his Senior year. , He has shown that his love of the sport by lettering as a Freshman in varsity football, he was selected as the Captain of the Football Team all four years of high school. During his Junior year he received second team all-league defense, and was cho sen by his team mates as Most Valu able Player (MVP), Best Defense, and a co-award with another team mate for Best Offensive Lineman. This year as a Senior in high school he also recieved several awards first he re ceived first team all-league offense and second team defense. Jeremy's coach gave him the good news that he also was selected to all state second team for Offensive Line man, as one of thirty-six players in the state of Oregon for, 3-A football. His team mates again selected him for several awards: MVP, Most Inspira tional, Best Offense, and co-award for Outstanding Line man. Jeremy's parents, Timothy and Janell Haller, are very proud of him as he has been able to ac- complish his suc cesses in football and continue to show responsibility in acedemics by continuing to hold an 3.5 and above grade point aver age, and also works at the Casino as a pantry steward. The family is do ing several fund raiser's to help Jer emy. We are doing a raffle of the fol lowing items: a Pendleton blanket; two beautiful homemade quilts; a porcelin Indian doll; a $25 gift certificate to Legends Restaurant; gift certificates to the Ca sino Buffet; t-shirts, ornaments, and stuffed coyotes from Outfitters; and they will be adding items before the raffle takes place at the March Gen eral Meeting. We also hope to have an "Indian Taco Feed" some time in February. If you are eligible for Contract Health and you wish Contract Health to continue paying for your co-pays for prescriptions, you must have those prescriptions filled at the Pharmacy in the new clinic. If you choose to have them filled elsewhere without authorization from Contract Health, you will be responsible to pay for the prescription in full.
