Pierson Mitchell blessed the new Health and Wellness Center on September 8. Honored guests were Anna and Rudy Clements, all of Warm
Springs. "A blessing is necessary in order to ensure the clinic is a place of health and healing," said Patti Tom-Martin of the Health Committee.
Staff will be completely moved in to the new building this week.
Elder honored for generous donation
Tribal Elder Ha Dowd received a Pendleton blanket from the Kwelth Talkie Culture
and Heritage Board Secretary Dave Brummitt. The blanket was presented to her
in appreciation for her cooperation with the Board, which has just finished copying

Culture Board to meet on current issues
Kwelth Talkie Culture and Heritage Board will hold its monthly meeting on October 11,
beginning at 1 0 a.m. at the Community Center. This is a change from what was previously
announced. All interested tribal members are invited to attend. The tentative agenda
includes: collection acquisition update, college education cooperative efforts, tax exempt
status progress, new Board member and personnel introductions, National Indian Day rep
resentatives report, internment of identified human remains plans, and language program
update. The Board members are: Claudette Parazoo, Dave Brummitt, Marie Schmidt, Annabelle
Hamm, Shawn Hostler, Sam Henny, and Kathryn Harrison.
African visitors

The Tribe hosted a visit from members of the African National Delegation last
month. They spent time touring tribal facilities and the Casino.
