After mov ing away from the Grand Ronde area in 1951, Carl spent some time in the service, then the couple bought five acres in LaGrande and raised their family. They were excited when the Grand Meadows opportunity arose. Their acreage sold the day is went up for sale, so everything they owned went into storage and they have been living with Betty's brother in McMinnville since July. Monday, September 22 was a very exciting day for the Lamberts the day their brand new manufactured home was delivered. Carl mentioned that he planned on spending the night in a sleeping bag just in case of any vandalism, he didn't want anything to happen to their new dream come true. Daily they have watched every stage of the production. Some of their new neighbors-to-be have even stopped by and introduced them selves. The retired couple is looking forward to volunteer ing in the community, taking computer classes, and having lunch at the mealsite with the opportunity to meet new friends and family. Now they will be able to sit back in their front , ' , ' 4 - - '-,' J1" ' iiHH1""" ' . . ( - t I ill ' i i ' 1 i ...
