SMOKE SIGNALS
Logging: salvage sales enrollment period
The Natural Resources Division is announcing an enrollment period for tribal mem
bers who are interested in LOGGING SMALL SALES OF TRIBAL SALVAGE
TIMBER. Those interested need to fill out the application form below and return it to
the Natural Resources Division Office, located at 470 10 SW Hebo Road or mail it to
P.O. Box 70, Willamina, Oregon 97396.
Applications must be received by OCTOBER 31, 1997 to be considered.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
1. Must be an enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde.
2. Must have recent logging experience with verifiable references.
3. Must own or have the ability to obtain adequate logging equipment.
4. Must have the ability to obtain insurance and have the financial solvency to
remit cash payments for timber and other contractual payments.

The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Education Division and Chemeketa Commu
nity College will offer classes BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 22. Finals week is December

from Chemeketa Community College Book Store for all students.
Tribal members wishing to enroll in these classes need to complete a Short Term Train
ing application PRIOR to enrolling in the class.
Everyone, regardless of whether or not you are an enrolled tribal member, will need to
complete a Chemeketa class registration form.
All classes will be subject to possible cancellation if enrollment is lacking.
Students who are not members of the Confederated Tribes MUST register for class
enrollment directly with Chemeketa Community College.
Classes will be conducted in the Tribal Education Center classroom or upstairs in the
Spirit Mountain Human Resources, Molalla classroom. Both are located at 28840 Salmon
River Highway.
Live class broadcast in Grand Ronde
Additionally through the Chemeketa Cable Television access channel, a total of 1 3 classes
will be broadcast through CTV live courses. These classes can be viewed at the Grand
Ronde Education classroom.
