Letter to the editor .
Editor,
Re: 1997 Grand Ronde Pow-wow
It was a wonderful Pow-wow and I have thanked many
people who made this year's event so great. I would like to
acknowledge the MC Roy Track. There were difficul
ties with the sound system, but coping with difficulties is
nothing new to Indian people. Also, thank you to the people
who were invited to give us the invocation as each session
began. These are essential elements of the ceremony and
enjoyment for our social and spiritual Pow-wow. From the
Tiny Tots to the Golden-Age participants, we are blessed
as tribal people.
Thanks also to those who prepared and served the food.
Thank you to the Fun Run team and participants. Thanks
to the volleyball crew and participants. And appreciation
is also given to the parade workers and participants. If any
one who participated in any way is forgotten, at this time I
will acknowledge you were a welcome part of the 1997
Grand Ronde Pow-wow.
Sincerely,
Claudette Parazoo

Watch Grand Meadows
The time is fast approaching for the first home to
appear at Grand Meadows! Of the 37 lots, most have
been reserved with the exception of two Elder lots and
four lots in the family section which still remain avail
able. The new residents of Grand Meadows are busy
selecting their new manufactured homes and planning
their landscaping. Keep watching Grand Meadows
over the next few months as it unfolds into the first
development of homes for the Grand Ronde Tribe.
Although there are still a few lots available, no new
applications will be processed in the next few months.
In order to avoid delays andor expenses in the in
stallation of homes during the winter weather, we will
wait until late winter to process any applications for
the remaining lots.
