CHRISTMAS CRAFTS WITH CONNIE Wednesday, December 4 from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. Molalla Room (Upstairs, Education Building) Connie Graves, a local talent and tribal member, will be offering a Christmas craft class. Participants will have the opportunity to make an ornament and matching gift box. You are invited to come and express (discover) your tal ents in a fun-filled evening. Crafts can easily be completed in class. Enrollment is limited, so call to sign up now. Supplies are included for tribal members, other participants will be asked to pay a nominal fee for materials. HARD SOLE MOCCASINS Friday, December 6 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Grand Ronde Room (Upstairs, Education Building) Jon Clark, a traditional Comanche, will be offering a dem onstration on the process of making southern style, hard sole, moccasins (men and women). Jon is known for his quality workmanship and artistic ability. After the demon stration, members of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde will have the opportunity to sign up for moccasin making classes with Jon. (Those tribal members who wish to sign up for class must attend the demonstration and com mit to the time involved to complete their moccasins.) The moccasin demonstration is open to all interested parties. Please call to register and to confirm the class date and time. We would also like to hear from tribal members wish ing to take the moccasin class in the Eugene area. STRESS & ANGER MANAGEMENT Wednesday, December 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Molalla Room (Upstairs, Education Building) Barbara Wirtz will be directing a workshop aimed at help ing people learn how to deal with their anger so that it can be used as a tool for improving their relationships. This workshop is available to tribal members, and is limited to 15 participants. Lunch will be provided. Call now to re serve your place in class. GED CLASSES IN GRAND RONDE Classes are offered on Tuesdays and Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. until December 12. GED classes will begin Winter Term on Thursday, January 9 from 4 to 7 p.m. ADULT EDUCATION SITE VISITATION PORTLAND: January 14, 1997 SALEM: January 15, 1997 SPRINGFIELDEUGENE: January 22, 1997 Visitation within the state is also available by request. This person would split duties between the Environmental Specialist and Fish and Wildlife Departments. Duties would range from evaluating, researching, and writing NEPA and other environmental documents to participat ing in various wildlife monitoring and enhance ment programs. A degree, or progress toward a degree in BiologyEnvironmental Science or a closely related field is required. This will be a full-time, temporary position. Applications along with a re sume and brief writing sample must be received no later than Friday, December 6. A Honor Lights fundraiser In December, the Health & Human Services Committee will light hun dreds of Honor Lights on a Christmas tree. The Honor Lights serve as a visual re minder of those you wish to honor during the com ing holiday season. We invite you to join symbolically in this hon oring event. The cost of an Honor Light is $1. Dona tions will also be accepted. The proceeds of this fund raising event will go towards purchasing the Art Work that will adorn the Health & Wellness facility which will be opening during the summer of 1 997. Memory Bricks Beginning immediately, the Health and Human Services Committee is offering bricks for sale which will be laid in a walkway of the new Health and Wellness Facility. The brick(s) will be bear the name of your choosing for the one(s) you wish to remember. Purchase Price: $50 per brick. I wish to purchase brick(s) and have the following name(s) engraved on it.
