Casino to hire special representative to increase tribal member employees In an effort to further increase the number of tribal members employed at Spirit Moun tain Casino, the Casino's Human Resources (HR) department has taken additional steps to achieve this goal. The Casino is currently hiring a person who will dedicate all of his or her time to this tribal hiring goal. Until now, several HR Representatives have shared in assisting tribal members in the hiring process. "We share the desire to increase the number of tribal members employed at the Casino," notes Kit Devine, Human Resources Director for the Casino. "The new HR Representative will take a hard look at finding the right job for every tribal member who wants one and to work with tribal programs to ensure tribal members receive the skills training necessary to find that right job." Another goal of this new HR representative will be to make sure tribal members currently employed at the Casino have every opportunity to increase their job skills and knowledge to achieve their full career poten tials. "If there is a tribal member here who is interested in expanding their jobs skills or learning leadership skills in order to obtain promotions," adds Devine, "we will work with them on training and education to help them achieve those goals." One goal already seeing successful results is the Summer Intern Program for tribal youth. A number of tribal youths who are interested in working at the Casino have already found summer positions there. Al though they are too young to work in the gaming departments, other positions were found elsewhere in the Casino for them. The hope is their experience working here this summer will provide them with the skills and the interest to return later and take on leadership positions.
