We cannot begin to express our appreciation to these people and all others who volunteer throughout the year. Without all of you the activities would not be possible. A Family Affair Fill 1996 with healthy and safe days for your whole family. Here are some things that add up to a healthier, safer lifestyle: Strengthen family bonds by making time to do enjoyable activities together. Be sure all members of your family .receive their immunizations, screenings, and checkups on time. Make sure everyone gets plenty of physical activity each day and enough sleep each night. Encourage everyone in your family to eat low-fat, high-fiber meals that in clude plenty of whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables. Give others the emotional support they need by "being there" to listen and share their disappointments as well as their triumphs. Teach everyone in the family how to use the phone to call 9-1-1 (or your area's emergency number) in case of an emergency. Serve as a role model by taking care of your own health and safety and being optimistic about life. Remember: Even small lifestyle changes can make a big difference for everyone in your family.
