INTAKE & ASSESSMENT SPECIALIST

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs professional level assess
ment and screening intakes for clients who present themselves for
services provided by the Division; includes social work methods such
as resources and information referral, crisis intervention, problem
solving, diagnosis, case planning, and follow-up aftercare; does re
lated work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in clinical psychol
ogy, social work, sociology, or related discipline. LCSW, LMFCC, or
similar with current licensure in the state of Oregon is required. Ex
perience working with Native Americans in a social service field
setting; or any satisfactory combination of experience and training
which demonstrates the knowledge, skill and ability to perform the
above described duties. '
KNOWLEDGE OF: Considerable knowledge of scientific method
ologies for clinical observation; treatment modalities; dysfunctional
behaviors; community and local resources in area of responsibility.
Knowledge of child abuse and neglect, Indian Child Welfare Act;
Native American culture and customs and social structures.
ABILITY TO: Organize own work schedule and work indepen
dently; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; learn
and interpret federal, state and tribal regulations; identify needs and
locate appropriate resources; establish and maintain an effective
working relationship with referral sources; maintain accurate case
files and record-keeping practices; maintain high level of confidenti
ality. SKILL IN: Interview and assessment skills; case management; the
use of standard office equipment.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Oregon driver's license;
safe driving record; possession of or ability to obtain a CPRFirst Aid
care within 30 days of employment.

BUDGET SPECIALIST
POSITION: 95-54
SALARY: $2584 - $3014 EXEMPT
REPORTS TO: Finance Officer
DEPARTMENTDIVISION: Finance
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None
CLOSING DATE: Friday, December 29, 1995
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains contract and grant files
and records, coordinates the submission of required reports to ap
propriate agencies, works with agencies on contractgrant adjust
ments, provides technical assistance to program staff on contracts
grants and budget compliance issues. Monitors and maintains up
dated budgets for grants and contracts and participates in contract
negotiations with BIAIHS. etc. Oversight responsibility for cash
management, contract receivables and general ledger entries and
reconciliation of contracts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Possess a Bachelors Degree with
emphasis in accounting, business administration, finance or related
field; and at least four years of contractgrant administration or gov
ernmental accounting including contractgrants experience, or any
satisfactory combination of experience and training which demon
strates the knowledge, skill and ability to perform the above de
scribed duties.
KNOWLEDGE OF: Demonstrated thorough knowledge of account
ing principles and record keeping practices; familiarity with fund ac
counting, contract and grant administration and federal reporting
requirements; familiarity with computers, accounting software and
other software packages.
ABILITY TO: Organize and maintain accurate, detailed records and
reports; establish priorities and organize own workload, working with
little or no supervision; interpret and apply contractgrant regula
tions and procedures; maintain effective working relationships with
other departments, vendors and other agencies; communicate ef
fectively both orally and in writing.
