Summer Dance class
Pow-wow dance class will be
held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on
June 15; and then every Thursday
evening from July 6 to August 10.
All classes will be held at the com
munity center.
Please join us. Everyone is wel
come to participate. Small chil
dren must be accompanied by an
adult.
Classes are sponsored by the
Pow-wow committee.
Oregon Teen Leadership camp
The Oregon Teen Leadership Institute (OTL1) will hold its 8th annual
camp at Chemawa Indian School in Salem, Oregon.
The 1995 OTL1 team registration packet will include:
general and camp information "team registration form
team registration information 'release, waiver and indemnification
camp rules and expectations 'agreement and consent for treatment
advisor responsibilities 'national prevention study consent
The camp will be held June 25 through 30, 1995. To register, please

Summer GED classes held
Put some class in your summer plans, join our ABEGED classes.
Classes will be held from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays
(June 20 through July 27, with the exception of July 4). Chemeketa
Community College is sponsoring these classes and they are free of
charge to any community member working towards a GED.
All classes will be held at the new training center, located behind
Spirit Mountain offices, at 28840 Salmon Highway in Grand Ronde.
Instructor is June Jetton. For more information, please contact Gayla
Tulensru, Tribal Adult Education Coordinator, at 879-2282.
Summer youth
activities to start
The school year is almost over
and summer vacation is about to
begin. The Wellness and Preven
tion Departments have scheduled
the June youth activities.
Monday, June 19: Summer ac
tivities for kids (K-6th grade)
Tuesday, June 20: Summer ac
tivities for kids (7th-12th grade)
Wednesday, June 21: Alateen
meeting
Thursday, June 22 and Fri
day, June 23: Crafts for kids 10
to 1 8 years of age. (Younger chil
dren must be accompanied by an
adult.)
All activities will meet at the
Wellness Building from 2 to 5
p.m. Hopefully the weather will
be nice so some activities will be
held outside. If you have any

Weekly craft class
Beginning in June, craft class
will be every Monday from 6:30
to 8:30 p.m. at the Community
Center. We will be working on
moccasins. Children must be ac
companied by an adult. If you
have any questions, please call

Summer Camp to begin
The Education Division will be offering a summer camp this year to
three age groups. Plan on signing your children up. Parents will need to
provide transportation to and from the program.
Preschool program for 3 years to Kindergarten: July 17-21.
Classes and activities will be held from 8 a.m. until noon. July 20 will
be a field trip and July 21 will be a graduation luncheon presentation.
Enrollment is limited to 20 children. Parents are encouraged to attend
with their children.
Students going into 1st through 5th grade: July 24-28. Classes
and activities will be held from 8 a.m. until noon. July 27 will be a field
trip and July 28 will be a graduation luncheon presentation. Enrollment
is limited to 26 children. Parents are strongly encouraged to participate.
Students going into 6th through 8th grade: August 14-16. This
will be a retreat in Lincoln City at Gleneden Beach. The theme will be
environmental education. Applications will be sent out in June for this
camp. The first 14 applicants will be selected to participate.
Applications for these camps and summer activities for 9-12 graders
will be included in the June mail out.
Registration Procedures: Applicant must be a tribal member. Ap
plications should be in 2 weeks prior to your camp. Pre-enrollment is
required. Early registration is best in order to insure you have a place.
No "walk-ins" on the opening day, please. We want to be ready for
your children. The application and health form must be signed by the
camper and the parentlegal guardian.

Kids craft classes offered at Busy Hands
The classes will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., beginning on June 2 1 . They
will be based on the theme "Create your own storybook," and offered
to kids of all ages. A variety of crafts will be done. These classes will
be every Wednesday through the summer.
To sign your kids up for the fun craft class, please call Busy Hands in
Grand Ronde at 879-5733. Busy Hands is open Monday-Friday, 1 1
a.m. to 5 p.m. and offers many craft classes to anyone interested.

nity of Oregon.

Must be able to attend Royalty Pageant, Grand Ronde Pow-Wow and Pa
rade in August (August 18-20, 1995).
Judging will be based on raffle ticket sales only (the girl who sells the most
raffle tickets w ill receive a sash and small crown during the Royalty Pageant
on Friday of the Pow-Wow, August 18, 1995. All participants will receive
a sash.)
All proceeds from raffle ticket sales will be used for the Grand Ronde Roy
alty functions.
Any donations of raffle prizes are welcome!
There is no deadline to enter. All tickets and money must be turned in to
Royalty Committee no later than 5:00 p.m. on August 15, 1995.
