Monday, November 22 was the tenth anniversary of Tribal Restoration, and a dinner and mini pow-wow was held at the Grand Ronde grade school on Saturday, November 20. Special guests included Les Aucoin and his wife, Sue, Sande Schmidt, Don Wharton of NARF (Native American Rights Fund), and State Senator Dick Springer. Tribal Council also honored special employees and tribal members for their dedicated service to the Tribe over the years. Employees who have worked for the Tribe five years or more were given a commemorative coin with the Grand Ronde logo embossed on it in honor of our tenth anniversary. Members of the Pow-wow Committee were also honored, committee chairman Merle Leno and his wife, Claudia and Jane! 1 Haller were recognized for many years of service and the organization of the annual pow-wow.
