By Linda Mann, RDH It looks like summer is over and fall has begun. This fall brings big changes in the dental clinic. As Dr. Tammy McClung leaves us to move into private practice, we want to take this opportunity to thank her for her service and wish her the best of luck. We anticipate welcoming her replacement soon. During this interim period, I want to encourage you to come in for your dental cleaning and exam. This "down time" is the perfect opportunity to come in for that cleaning you have been putting off or that exam you need. And as the kids settle into school what better time is there than now to start the year out right with a check up? Dental sealants are also being provided during this interim period. Sealants are thin plastic coatings painted on the chewing surfaces of the back tooth, where decay most often occurs. Children between the ages of five and fourteen benefit most from sealants since that is when the molars are erupting. Sealants help prevent decay by keeping out the germs and food from the pits and grooves in the back teeth. Sealants are very easily applied and don't require shots or drilling. So...parents before Halloween arrives with all the candy and sweets, bring the kids in for sealants, and while you're there, why not have your teeth cleaned and examined? You'llbe gladyou did. Please call for an appointment at 879 2020 or 1-800-775-0095. Enjoy this fall season.
