- General Council Meeting
' Summer is over and it is time to begin a new year of General Council Meetings.
Meetings are usually scheduled for the first Sunday of every month, but this month the
meeting will be held Sunday, September 12 because of the Labor Day hohday ,
Meetings are conducted by Tribal Council and are designed to inform tribal
membersofcurrentissues and events theTribeis involved with. The September 12 rneeting
will be at 1 1 :00 A.M., and a meal will follow. Nominations will be taken for Elder s
Committee. All tribal members are encouraged to attend.
New Transportation Plan
TheBureauofIndianMairs,inconjuncuonwiththeConfederatedTribesofGrand
Ronde Public Works Division', have drafted a transportation plan. This plan is available for
public reviewcomment, and will be available at the Tribal Development office A public
meeting will be held in the Community Center on September 3 at 10:00 A.M. The meeting
willprovidetheopportunityforpubliccommentabouttheGrandRondeTransportaUonPlan.

Nanitch Sahallie Employee of the Month:
Linda Jirek
Linda Jirek was selected Employee of the Month by her co-workers at Nanitch
Sahallie Youth Treatment Facility.
She is the Administrative
Assistant to the Program Director, and
has been working at Nanitch for seven
years.
"My job is to basically help
everyone in the office," she said.
Linda was raised in Raycene,
Wisconsin, and attended college there,
as well as in the Northwest. She is an
enrolled tribal member of the Oneida
Tribe.
She has previously worked for
Chemawa Indian School, located near
Nanitch Sahallie. Linda is proud to have
received this recognition.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Creation of office systems, practices and procedures; creation of filing system;
design office facility, select and procure office equipment and furnishings, supervise and train office and administrative
personnel; address public inquiries; handle relations with the general public.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND SKILLS: High School graduation or equivalency, at least five years experience in
administration in large office setting; at least three years secretarial experience; ability to operate computer software for
word processing, statistical reports; experience with dictation; proficient English usage and grammar, ability to research
problems independently, ability to organize materia) from various sources into format design; ability to maintain
confidentiality, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff, outside
officials, agencies, and the public, ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS:
