Please be aware that a broken appointment is: an appointment that has not been cancelled at least 24 hours in advance; failure to show up for an appointment Please contact the Dental Clinic for more information on this policy and to make a dental appointment. r 4AW 1 "VV Valerie Holler I ? USDA Update By Margo Norton, USDA Director The participation rate for the Salem and Siletz USDA Warehouses have been steadily increasing. In April we serviced over 500 Grand Ronde and Siletz tribal members. In recognition for all their hard work and efforts, the USDA staff and volunteers received engraved box cutters with their names on them and a letter of appreciation. A big thank you to Kevin McKnight, Gene Hudson, Benny Belgard, Marilyn Belgard, and Derrick Belgard. The regional office informed the USDA program that we were not considered for the ground beef pilot project. So if the project is a success, we should see fresh frozen ground meats in our warehouses in 1994. In July we are getting a shipment of new items; honey, canned beef, tomato juice, and peanut butter just to nameafew. Jean-Charles Azure, nutritionist from Chemawa, and Irene Holland, CHN for Siletz Portland Area office will be on hand July 20 in Salem and July 23 in Siletz. They will be taking blood pressures and answering questions on nutritional concerns. We are starting to feel the pressure of people who do not keep their appointments. It is very important that people call to cancel if they cannot make their scheduled appointments. The USDA staff can be reached Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M at 1-800-922-1399.
