Wedding Announcement
Rcyn and Liz Leno of Willamina announce the
engagement of their daughter Angela to Ariah Fasana, son
of Mark and Pat Fasana of Sheridan, Oregon. The couple are
bothstudentsatPortlandStateUniversity. Angela is a Junior
majoring in Sociology and Administration of Justice. Ariah
is a Senior majoring in Biology. He is also a member of the
Portland State wrestling team. A wedding date has not yet
been determined.

Special Birthday
Teany Miller, Grand Rortdc tribal member, turned
92 on March 21. Teany was born in 190 land is the daughter
of Jane Menard and Andrew Smith, who named her Teany
because she was a very small baby.
Her grandparents were Peter Menard and Elizabeth
Shangaretta. She married Henry Miller, abuilding contractor,
and has lived in many Oregon towns including Portland,
Salem, and Newport. She has a daughter, Ethelmae Miller
Kipp.

Elmer Tom, 91, the oldest male tribal member, and Pauline Johnson, who will
be 88 this month, were honored at the 3rd Annual Elders' Honor Day in Warm
Springs March 19, 20, 21. They were each given a Pendleton blanket from the
Tribe.
Council Nominations
Nominations for Tribal
Council candidates will be held at
the May 1993 General Council
Meeting.
Any duly enrolled member
who will be 1 8 years of age or older
on the date of the election is
qualified to be a candidate.
Any eligible voter may
nominate a candidate from the floor
atsaid May meeting. The candidate
must be present at the meeting to
either accept or decline the
nomination.

The Native American Tribes will join Coberg
Golden years as part of its Oregon Trail Celebration. We
need:
Dancersall tribes welcome
Booths to sell fry bread, Indian taco, stew
Artifact displays
Booths to sell books, regalia supplies, and finished art
work
Representatives in regalia to answer questions from
visitors about customs and traditional Native American
beliefs of preserving our environment.
We would like to have the Pow-wow be an on
going event each third weekend in July with our Golden
Years celebration. Please join us.
Coberg is 4 miles north of Eugene on 1-5.

In memory of Nathanial Jerome Tigg" Jackson,

New Mealsite Location For Elders
All Elders are cordially invited to the opening of
the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Community
of Oregon Elder's Mealsite. It will be held April 6, 1993
at 12:00 noon. The special menu will be salmon, tossed
salad, dinner fries, fruit salad, juice, coffee, and dessert.
This luncheon will honor the Elders of the
Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Community of
Oregon. Special guests will include the Elders of the Siletz
Tribe. All Elders, please join us!
