NEW NEWSLETTER DIRECTOR
For the past month I have been learning my job as Newsletter Director here in Grand
Ronde, getting to know my co-workers, and introducing myself to council members,
elders, and other tribal employees. Now I would like to introduce myself to the readers
of SMOKE SIGNALS. My name is Tracy Olson, and I am the new Newsletter Director.
I am a tribal member, and a recent graduate of the University of Oregon.
I have many ideas and goals concerning the newsletter, but I primarily want to create
a paper which offers entertaining and informative articles for all tribal members,
whether they live in Oregon, or some other state. One of the first things I learned when
I began working for the Confederated Tribes of grand Ronde is that there are many
changes, events, and activities happening locally and nationally that directly affect tribal
members' lives. It is my responsibility to make sure all valuable tribal news in printed
in the SMOKE SIGNALS. If you have a comment or idea concerning the newsletter,
I would like to hear from you. Please feel free to offer suggestions, either in writing or
in person. I am looking forward to meeting more tribal members and serving the
newsletter for a long time. -
