Family Services Advocate-Grand Ronde
Family Services Coordinator
Coordinates delivery of social services, health, nutrition, parent
involvement, and mental health services for the children and
parents. Enrolls children at the Grand Ronde Head Start
Center.
Regular, part-time, non-exempt
SOCIAL SERVICES
Work with Family Services Coordinator and Confederated
Tribes of Grand Ronde to plan, coordinate, and provide social
service delivery to enrolled children and families as outlined in
program work plans and Head Start performance standards.
Coordinate with teaching team in providing case management
and services to families, conducting social service home visits to
families and assisting families in obtaining resources as needed.
Visits classroom to observe children, contact parents and
support teaching staff.
Assumes liaison role to community and state social service
agencies.
Insures that each enrolled family has filled out a Family Needs
Assessment and Family Action Plan.
Recruits and enrolls children and provides teaching staff with
necessary documents for enrollment.
Distributes community resource guides to families.
Process monthly agency forms.
MENTAL HEALTH
Work with Family Services Coordinator and Confederated
Tribes of Grand Ronde to plan, coordinate, and provide for
mental health services assuring that regulations arc being met.
HEALTHNUTRITION
Work with Health Coordinator and Confederated Tribes of
Grand Ronde to plan, coordinate, and provide for the delivery of
health, dental, and nutrition services to enrolled children and
families at the lowest cost available as outlined in the program
work plans and head start performance standards.
Compile and maintain a master health tracking system which
includes service needs and completion of services.
MANAGEMENT
Compiles and maintains a case management file on each child
and family, which includes service needs and follow-up.
Complete necessary reports and documents as required.
Attend monthly case management meetings.
Assist in the development of training objectives and activities
for staff and parents.
Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
Assume other duties as related to job when necessary.
PARENT INVOLVEMENT
Encourages parent participation in all aspects of Head Start
and other similar organizations.
Assists staff and parents in planning parent activities.
(Meetings, fund-raisers, training sessions, etc.)
Attends parent meetings.
Assists Family Services Coordinator in planning, coordinating,
and scheduling training for parents.
Encourages parents to take advantage of educational
opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS: 'Possess high school diploma or GED
Able to keep records
Experience working with low-income clients in a problem
solving capacity
Warm, personal qualities of a reaching, helping, caring nature
Leadership ability in areas of planning, organizing, supervising,
and communicating
Valid Oregon Driver's License and appropriate car insurance
as required by state law
Ability to communicate effectively and positively with low
income children and parents
Available to travel to out-of-town training and be away for
more that two nights.
Ability to handle stress and be flexible
Valid First Aid card and TB clearance
Good verbal and written skills
Salary range for this position is $6. 90 per hour.

Provide safe and punctual trasnportation for program children
to and from Head Start Classes and field trips, as well as
parents to special activities.
Regular, part-time, non-exempt
TRANSPORTATION
Transport children in a safe and timely manner using a set
route.

Maintain accurate transportation and vehicle service records.
Maintain assigned vehicle by keeping it clean, equipping it for
emergencies, and reporting any mechanical disfunction.
Manage children on vehicle by the use of positive guidance
and by setting reasonable and safe limits. '
QUALIFICATIONS: Possess a valid Oregon School Bus Driver's Permit or Lisence,
or capacity to secure one,maintain satisfactory driving record,
CDL with passenger endorsement.
Possess a high school diploma or GED.
Ability to relate positively with children and adults.
Possess a First Aid card and TB clearance.
