It is not too late to sign up to be a contestant for Senior Miss Grand Ronde or
Junior Miss Grand Ronde. The Royalty Committee extended the sign up period to
May 31st. This year we have something new: Honorary Princess court. This new
court gives the younger girl's training and the opportunity to participate in tribal
functions as well as giving them traditional and cultural knowledge. Hopefully this
will help them when they become eligible for junior Miss Grand Ronde and Senior
Miss Grand Ronde. They will be given a sash.
Q: What does being on the
Royalty Court mean?

A: "For me it meant meeting
people from a lot of different
tribes. I learned about other
Indians. It made me proud to
represent our people...A real
special part, for me, was meeting
elders and learning about what
they have been through.

A: "It teaches us a lot of tradi
tional and historic values. It also
gives us plenty of public speak
ing opportunities to help later in
life."
