Set a target date to quit smoking in
the next week or two. Don't let anything
change it. Try to quit "cold," rather than
slowly cutting down on the amount you
smoke each day. By quitting "cold" your
body can begin to get better much
sooner.
Also, if you show any of the signs that
you body is getting better (withdrawal),
these will last a shorter time if you quit
"cold."
Today's date:
I will quit on:
Plan Ahead

picks, carrots or celery.

not buying cigarettes. Try to put some
money in the jar each day.

smoke, brush your teeth instead.
Try to cut down on coffee and alcohol.
Think about the situations during the
day that will make you want to have a
cigarette. Then avoid those situations.
Talk to someone about quitting.
What to do on quit day

through your first day without smoking.

cigarettes. Start a new crafts project. Go
for walks. Visit a friend or family
member who doesn't smoke.
