Smoke Signals September 1991 Page Frank H. Harrison Frank H. Harrison, aged 43 years, passed away September 1, 1991 near Cape Fowlweather, Or. . He was born in Pendleton, Or. on January 15, 1948 to Frank and Kathryn (Jones) Harrison. He had resided in Molalla, Or. for 4 years and is a member of the Confed erated Tribes of Grand Ronde, the Molalla Band and Rocky Boy Chippewa. Mr. Harrison testified in Wash ington D.C. for restoration of tribal status, then was Chairman of the Restoration Ceremonies. He has served on many tribal committees including the Tribal Council for four years. Mr. Harrison worked as a chaser for Grim Brothers Logging in Estacada. 'He graduated from Southwestern Community College and had served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam conflict. Frank was an avif hiker and moun tain climber, having scaled Mt. Shasta, Mt. Rainer, Three Finger Jack and Mt. Hood twice. He also enjoyed hunting and Fishing. He is survived by his parents Frank Harrison of Condon, Or. and Kathryn Harrison of Grand Ronde; brothers: Thomas of WA., Raymond (Valerie) of Portland, Roger of Salem and David Harrison of Portland; sisters: Patsy (Gene) Pullin of Alaska, Jeanette Harrison of Brownsville, Kathryn (Jim)Colcy of Hillsborough, Diane Harrison of Alaska and Karen Harrison of New Mexico. Funeral services were held on Thursday September 12, 1991 at the Church of the Nazarene in Grand Ronde. Interment followed at the Grand Ronde Tribal Cemetery. Pacific View Memorial Chapel is serving the family. I CORRECTIONS 1 In our July 1991 issue one of our newest arrivals, Cody Allen Little Eagle's, birthdate was incorrectly printed. The correct date is June 19, 1991. Proud parents are Brian Kamna and Jolene Poole. Maternal grandparents are Annabclle and Bruce Poole and paternal grandpar ents, Pamela and Dennis Fischer. To All Veterans: The next veteran's meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 26, at 6:30 p.m. at the Tribal Office. All veterans and interested persons are encouraged to attend. The Forest Patrol Officer will issue campers permits, on-site, at no charge. This will allow us to keep track of how many campers we have per year. 2. Greenery Permittees: There will be no picking when a fire level precaution III is declared. Be sure to keep an axe, shovel and fire extinguisher in your vehicle.
