TRIBAL TRUST FUND SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS
On June 6th, 1991, a special review sub committee met
to review scholarship applications for the Undergradu
ate and Graduate Educational Trust fund Scholarships.
The committee was comprised of representatives from
Oregon state University, Chemeketa Community
College, the Oregon Indian Education Association and
Portland Public Schools. Concluding the application
review process the following applicants were ranked and
approved by the Education Committee in accordance
with established Tribal Policies for the Educational
GRADUATES:
Kelly Nelson, was formerly enrolled in the Tribe's
Higher Education Program during 1988-1990. She
graduated form California State University, Sacramento
earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology with a
Minor in Chemistry. She is currently enrolled in a
Master's Program in Health Social Work. She is
seeking admission into Medical School. Her ultimate
goal is to become a Family Physician. Her current
accume GPA is 3.25. As a Graduate student Kelly is
awarded a $5,000. scholarship for the 1991-1992 school
year.
Our congratulations to the 1991-1992 Scholarship
recipients. We applaud all your hard work and look
forward to your involvement in the Tribe's future.
UNDERGRADUATES:
Kathleen Fcchan, who is a student attending Domini
can College in San Rafael California. Kathleen is at
Junior class standing, who is majoring in Biology. She
carries a 3.76 accume GPA and has received Honor Roll
distinction. She hopes to become involved in biological
research and natural resource management. She will
receive a $3,000. scholarship for the 1991-1992 school
year.
Angela Leno, a Sophomore, is attending Western
Oregon State College in Monmouth. She is majoring in
Political science with a Minor in Computer Science.
Her accume GPA is a 3.52. Since attending WOSC, she
has gained Honor Roll distinction twice. Her goals are
to gain entry into Law School and pursue a career in the
legal profession. Angie is awarded a $3,000. scholarship
for the 1991-1992 year.
Jane Olson, recently re-entered school during the
1990-1991 year by enrolling at the University of Oregon.
Her Major is Psychology and she will seek Law School
admission at Willamette University upon graduation.
During the 91-92 school year, June will be a Senior.
Before attending the U of O, June graduated from Clark
Community College with Honors. She currently carries
a 3.53 accume GPA. For the 1991-1992 year June will
receive a $3,000. scholarship.
Chadwick Stryker, is completing his Freshman year
at Oregon State University. His Major is Electrical
Engineering. He is a member of the Freshman Honor
Society and earned Honor Roll distinction during Fall
Term 90. Chad's current accume GPA is a 3.69. Chad
is also a member of the American Indian Science &
Engineer Society chapter at OSU. Chad is awarded a
$3,000. scholarship for the 1991-1992 school year.
Terry Thomas, is attending Saint Martin's College, in
Lacey, WA. He is majoring in Accounting with a
Business Administration Minor. His accume GPA is a
357. Upon completing his Bachelor of Arts degree re
quirements, Terry hopes to become a Certified Public
Accountant and someday open his own accounting firm.
Terry has earned Honor Roll distinction while attending
Grays Harbor Community College. He also received
Presidents Honor Roll distinction during the 1990 year.
Terry is awarded $3,000. for the 1991-1992 school year.
