TRIBAL COUNCIL
CANDIDATES FORUM
The Election Committee is hosting a Tribal Council
Candidate Forum Sunday, July 28th at the Grand
Ronde Elementary School.
A meal will be served at noon and the forum will begin
at 1:00 p.m.
The Election Committee has established two questions
for each candidate to answer and then the floor will be
open for all tribal members that are eligible to vote.
There will be established guidelines that must be
followed so the forum will run smoothly. So come and
get acquainted with the candidates. If you have any

HUNTER EDUCATION
CLASSES SCHEDULED
Hunter Education Classes have been scheduled for
July 29, - August 1 and August 5, 1991, from 6:30 pm to
9:00 p.m. The Classes will be held at the Nazarene
Church in Grand Ronde.
Interested persons are asked to contact the Fish and
Wildlife Department (879-5211) to sign up for the
classes by Thursday, July 25th, 5:00 p.m.. All persons
wanting to earn the State of Oregon Hunter Certifica
tion must attend all classes!

IMPORTANT VOTER INFORMATION College All Indian
Dear Tribal Voters:
This is to inform you of a new provision to the Confed
erated Tribes of Grand Ronde's Election Ordinance.
Effective immediately, for this and future Tribal
Elections, All, voters must have a "Voter Signature
Card" on file in the Enrollment Office.
Voter Signature Cards are available through the
Election Board, the Enrollment Office or the Tribal
Council. Please call (503) 879-5211 ext. 202 for assis
tance, or write to the Enrollment Office P.O. Box 38
Grand Ronde, Or. 97347. Voter Signature Cards and a
Notary Public will be available during the election on
September 7, 1991. Please bring a piece of photo
identification with you to register and vote.
Note that your signature MUST be notarized to
be legal for voter registration. The Tribal Office
has a Notary available or a bank usually provides
this service. Your signature on this card will be
used as voter verification in Tribal Elections. Be
sure to sign it with the signature you use on any
official documents. If the signature on the card
docs not match the signature on the absentee
ballot cast in your name, that ballot WILL NOT
PBCOUNTEP,
This requirement has been instituted for your protec
tion, to ensure that no other person will falsely vote
under your name and to maintain a high standard of
fairness in Tribal Elections. We hope you share our
concern and please accept our apology for any inconven

Student Orientation
Chemeketa Community College and the representa
tives from the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs,
Confederated Tribes of Siletz, Confederated Tribes of
Grand Ronde, the NW Portland Area Indian Health
Board and the Klamath Tribe, are joining forces to host
an orientation workshop for Indian students on August
7th & 8th, 1991.
The workshop is a two day event, and will cover these
topics:
Community College Entrance
Placement Assessment
Support Services (tutoring, counseling, etc.)
Four Year Colleges & Universities
Student Clubs.
If you are interested in attending, the Tribal Education
Program will sponsoring students. During this work
shop, Chemeketa will work with students in possible
early registration for Fall Term 1991. All new AVT and
Higher Education students are encouraged to attend this
workshop. It does not matter if you will be attending
Chemeketa, there will be representatives from various
colleges on hand to answer your questions. For more
