Position Description
TITLE: J.O.B.S. Program Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Social Sendees Program Director
SALARY: $15,000 - $17,000 D.O.E.
TRIBALINDIAN PREFERENCE APPLIES
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs intakesassessments for AFSAFDC
recipients; develops employment trainingwork plans for
clients.
Assists clients with education, job readiness, job
skills training, job placement and development.
Assists clients with optional program compo
nents of: job search, OJT, work supplementation,
community work experience, alternative work experi
ence, and alternative education, training and employ-
ment.
Coordinates services, establishes agreements
and makes reports to Tribal State, Federal and Private
agencies as required.
Monitors client progress.
Follows Tribal Program proposal and targets
resources for those hardest to serve, particularly women
and young children.
Coordinates client support services as needed.
Emphasizes educationtraining for existing
jobs, provides flexibility in program design, maximizes
use of existing resources, provides participants with
choices of child care providers, focuses on Tribal
members receiving AFDC residing in service area.
Provides job readiness activities, including
counseling and motivational assistance.
Other duties as assigned.

Salmon pick-up Guidelines
The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde's Fish and
Wildlife Department will now be distributing the
Subsistence Salmon annually instead of bi-annually as
has been done in the past. The Tribal Subsistence
Program will notify members of the distribution date
when it becomes available.
If you need someone else to pick up your salmon for
you the following form must be completed and returned
to the Tribal Office by June 3rd, 1991 - 5:00 p.m
Please do not send the form with the person picking up
your salmon.
The Fish and Wildlife Committee will also be estab
lishing an on-going fish cleaning crew this year, fifteen

REPORTS TO: Administrative Assistant
SALARY: $12,000 - $14,000 D.O.E.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides reception support, answering in
coming calls and transferring calls to appropriate staff.
If unable to transfer call, takes message and relays
information to appropriate staff member.
Provides secretarial support for administrative
and program staff as needed.
In administrative assistant's absence, receives,
date stamps, and distributes incoming mail to appropri
ate staff; logs incoming mail for general manager and
council chairperson.

DIRECTOR CENTER FOR INDIAN
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the general direction of
the Dean, College of Behavioral and Social Sciences the
occupant of this position will be administratively
responsible for the Center for Indian Community
Development: Instructional possibilities are optional,
according to the candidates' interests. The appointee
will serve on university committees and be active in local
Native American communities. Administrative respon
sibilities will consist of development, administration,
funding acquisition and support for community develop
ment programs with Native American communities.
The director will have the status of a department chair
and will sit on the Council of Chairs of the College of
Behavioral and Social Sciences. Duties also include
writing cooperative grants as a full partner with depart
ment chairs, senior professors, agency heads and Tribal
government leaders.
QUALIFICATIONS: (1) Doctorate preferred, Masters
required. Graduate work in Native American Studies
preferred; or in a related discipline (e.g., anthropology,
education, ethnic studies, geography, history, literature,
political science, psychology, social work, sociology) with
an emphasis in Native American Studies. (2) Ten years
of intimate experience with Native American cultures
and demonstrated ability to understand Native Ameri
can perspectives and peoples is required. (3) Adminis
trative experience or demonstrated ability relevant to
professional manner; determines program or individual
visitor should be referred to.
Determines whereabouts of staff in order to
relay information in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School graduateGED; minimum 1 year
office experience.
Able to type minimum 40 WPM; knowledge of
computerized word processing (Word Perfect pre
ferred); able to operate computer equipment.
Willing to attend training.
Valid ODLReliable transportation required.

the leadership of a community development center
including community outreach, program planning,
budgeting, and supervision of staff is required. (4)
Familiarity with Federal programs designed to meet the
special educational and cultural needs of Native Ameri
can Tribes, organizations and individuals is required.
(5) Successful candidate must be a pragmatic, results
oriented administrator who is comfortable in accepting
the challenge to produce a program of national renown
within five years.
COMPENSATION: Position is in the university's
management plan. Salary is up to $58,000 for Septem
ber to June of each academic year, with :::rwviation
of additional earnings possible in July and August via ex
tramural funding to achieve an annual salary of $70,000.
