East of Eden Timber Sold
The East of Eden Timber Sale sold on July 31, 1990 to
Hampton Tree Farms, Inc. An estimated 3,861 board
feet of Douglas-fir and other Conifer was purchased at
the rate of $38935 per thousand board feet (MBF). A
predetermined 135 MBF of Red Alder and other Hard
wood was purchased at the total price of $1638630.
The sale is located on the end of the Upper West Fork
Road in Sections 16 and 17, T5S, R8W, W.M. This sale
is comprised of two units totaling 61 acres scheduled to
be clearcut harvested this summer (1991). The sale in
volved some minor road construction (0.61 miles) which
has been completed by Braxling and Braxling Construc
tion, with the exception of applying surface rock, which
will occur this summer (1991). Zimbrick Logging, Inc. is
expected to move in sometime this summer to com
mence cable logging operations.

Wrestling Starts a New Year!!!

Shonn Leno off to a good new year. He captured 3rd
place in the Pacific Open Tournament held in Forest
Grove. There were 350 to 400 wrestlers in his bracket.
Shonn is a sophomore at Willamina High and is rated
second in the state at 106 lbs. There are also several
Tribal members wrestling in the Little Guy Mat Club.
Some wrestled at the Oregon Classic in Corvallis and
some at the Willamina tournament. From what I've
seen they are all doing great! Stay tuned for more
articles and more pictures!

Tamara Fae 'Tammy'
George Williams
Nov. 16, 1958 - Dec. 21, 1990
GRAND RONDE - Tamara Fae 'Tammy George
Williams, 32, died Friday at her home.
She was born in Gold Beach and lived in the Willamina
and Grand Ronde areas for most of her life. She was a
graduate of Willamina High School, where she was
homecoming queen. She had recently graduated from
Phagan's Beauty School, and she enjoyed hair styling.
Survivors include her father and stepmother, Allen and
Lynda George of Sheridan; mother, Myrna L. Dickey of
Willamina; grandmother Gertrude Dickey of Willamina;
brothers, Jerry George of Okinawa, Jon George, Tim
George and Rick George, all of Willamina; Stepsisters,
Tandy Carpenter of McMinnville and Kristan George of
Sheridan.
Services were held on December 27th at Adamson's
Sheridan Mortuary. Interment will be at the Grand
Ronde Tribal Cemetery.

Alcohol and Drug Program Director Randy Butler shows where a bullet shattered his windshield on his way to
Portland to see a client. Randy's case was investigated by the police but, so far no suspect has been found.
