Smoke Signals November 1990 Energy Program Looking for Eligible Native Americans The Energy Programs at Community Action Agency of Yamhill Co. and Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency arc looking for eligible Native American households for the Low income Weatherization Pro gram. Weatherization measures that are eligible for installa tion include general heat waste items such as caulking and weatherstripping, furnace efficiency modifications, attic insulation, wall insulation, under-floor insulation, and storm windows. The sole purpose of this program is to lower energy usage and therefore help lower your utility bills. To be eligible for the weatherization assis tance program your house hold income must meet the guidelines set forth by the federal government. Gear should be present for more information. page 4 Energy Assistance Program The Low Income Energy Assistance Program helps people once a year with their heat bills. Their income must be under 125 of poverty level The program will begin on November 5, 1990 for senior citizens and disabled persons who arc getting benefits for their disability. Those persons who received assistance last year may be able to complete their applications by mail. Telephone 623-8429 to have the application sent to you. On December 3, 1990 we will begin taking applications for the remainder of the population. Call the Dallas information and referral office 623-8429 for an appoint ment after December 2, 1990. If you are unable to come into the Dallas office, we will be taking applications in Grand Ronde at a later date.
