TITLE: Johnson O'Malley (JOM) Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Education Director
SALARY: $6.00 per hour
Closing Date: November 30, 1990
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct survey and educational needs assessment per
both programs.
- Maintain enrollment & certification files for program
participants.
- Provide and disseminate information regarding both
programs to students, families and related educational
agencies.

An informal meeting with representatives of the
Northwest Indian Veterans Association will be held in
Grand Ronde depending on the response of this
questionnaire. The meeting will be for the purpose of
determining the interest in Grand Ronde for establish
ing a chapter of the Northwest Indian Veterans Associa
tion (N.I.VA)

Veterans organizations all over the country are
becoming active in chapters like this one. We at Grand
Ronde believe the time has come for our Tribal Veter
ans to receive the benefits due to them.
Conduct cultural awareness classes and activities for
JOM program as necessary.
- Work with Parent Committee and Tribal Education
Committee, in planning, developing and implementing
programs.
Prepare annual education plans for both programs.
- Maintain appropriate files, reports and supporting
documentation for programs.
Prepare appropriate, quarterly and annual reports for
committees and federal agencies.
Conduct program activities in cooperation with other
Tribal projects.
- Coordinate and conduct awareness workshops, semi
nars and classes, as needed, for outreach.
Prepare and assist adult Tribal members in application
process to obtain GED basic skills development,
employment enhancement, self improvement and special
interest classes.
Act as community and studentfamily liaison for the
programs.
Supervise contracted staff as needed to provide Pre
School; tutorial career awareness and basic skills
development activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a High School Graduate or possess GED
equivalency, preferred 2 years of higher education.
- Demonstrate ability of work with Indian children and
families.
- Possess good written and oral communication skills.
- Have a personal vehicle and valid Oregon Driver's
License.
- Able to work and travel some weekends and evenings.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality as specified by
Tribal and Bureau of Indian Affairs criteria.
Ability to organize and conduct educational support
services for pre-school aged to adult members, per both
JOMAdult Ed. Programs.
- Ability to work with local school district personal
(teachers & administrators) and respective community
collegeadult learning centers.
