Ronaele Loomis
I'm Jr. Princess Ronaele Loomis, daughter of Sam and
Christie Loomis. I'm ten years old and a fifth grader at
Grand Ronde Elementary. I'm very glad to be a
princess because I've had fun learning the ways of my
people. I've learned dancing, drumming, some jargon
and a lot of things about our Indian culture. I like pow
wows, they are a lot of fun. Some other things I enjoy
are animals, reading, going to school and talking to
people.
I'm excited for our annual pow-wow in August. I can
hardly wait! I wish good luck to Krystal and Tara. I
hope they are having as much fun as I am ! "Saghalie
tyee wawa kloshe konaway".

Greetings! This year has been a busy one! I have had
the opportunity to attend many pow-wows, youth
meetings and other events. Meeting alot of people
including Miss Indian America 1990, Wanda Johnson, a
Navajo Indian. Talking with her was very encouraging
to go on with my dancing and sharing my talents with
others. The Girl Scout Pow-Wow held at Siletz was alot
of fun. They all seemed to be interested on our dancing
and dresses. The dances at Siletz were fun to learn also,
from the Tuwala group from California. Other dance
classes were fun to visit also. The drumming and singing
classes held at Grand Ronde School were especially
interesting to me. I would like to learn more in this
area.
I will be looking forward to the events coming up. We
will be doing some interesting sessions. June has been a
new and different presentation for me and the girls !
We were introduced at the Sheridan Rodeo. I signed
the Lord's Prayer. This was a scary time for me, but
with the support of the Royalty Committee and Kathryn
Harrison and the parents' of the princess's, it all worked
out. I would like to thank all of the friends and relatives
that have been so good to me. Also my parents, Ron
Rimer and Jackie Provost. A special thank you to my
sister, Camillc Van Vleet, she puts up with me and my
little friends. And of course grandma, Margaret
Provost, she is always there and seems to know when we
need a hug to make us happy,
v In closing, I want to say good luck to Krystal Schmid,
Ronnie Loomis and Tara Leno. I know whoever
becomes queen, she will do a good job. The girls and
their parents have been great to travel and pow-wow
with.

Mother Earth". Stay strong in the Spirit.
