for the '90-'91 academic year.
Andy's believe in education, is clearly demonstrated in
written comments submitted to the Tribes' effort to
establish an Educational Trust Fund Scholarship
program. He stated "education is the only way that our
Tribe can prepare to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
It is valuable to meeting the needs of the Tribe. What
people learn can be applied toward meeting these
needs."
Andy and Patty, we tip our hat to you! For all your
hard work and for all the dreams yet to come. Congratu

Educational Update
ByDcanAzule
With the close of the 1989-'90 academic year, the
Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, Education
Program has reason to celebrate! At the conclusion of
Spring Term 1990, the Program had a total of 5. Adult
Vocational Training Students and 4 Higher Education
students GRADUATE! This brings our total (since the
1985-1986 academic year) to 22 AVT Graduates and 6
Higher Education Graduates.
The projected outlook for the 1990-1991 academic year
is looking FULL! Both the AVT and Higher Education
Programs have a significant number of new applicants
pending. Our continuing students will number approxi
mately 24 combined. While it appears that both pro
grams will have more applications that it can possible
fund entirely; applications will still be accepted for
FALL Term, '90 consideration until JULY 30th, 1990.
