there is reason Tribe salutes the Graduates of 1990
TO CHEER!
Plaudits to the graduates of 1990! Concluding the
academic year 1989-1990, at the close of June 1990, the
Tribal Education Programs realized a total of 9 Adult
Vocational Training (AVT) and Higher Education
graduates! AND, the positive outlook doesn't just stop
with the close of Spring Term! By the end of August
1990, we will have more students graduating as soon as
Summer Term practicum is completed. FURTHER, by
the close of Fall Term '90, we will have another Higher
Education student put the finishing touches on gradu
ation requirements and complete their program as well.
This year's charge to the "graduation finish line" was
led by an outstanding group of students, many who
earned a Grade Point Averages of a 3.00 or better! For
several of these students, school will not stop with
graduation. Several AVT and Higher Education
students are planning on continuing their education a
step further! The graduates of 1990 are: ,

Andrew Jcnness
Jenness Outstanding
Name: Andrew M. Jenness
School: University of Oregon, School of Business
Degree: Bachelor of Science
Program: Economics - Major, Psychology - Minor
On June 10th, 1990, Mr. Jenness received his diploma
from the University of Oregon. While attending the
University, Andy earned an accumulative GPA of 3.16.
During his college experience for a total of 13 terms,
Andy earned "B" average or better. He received Dean's
List distinction, and was recognized by the University's
Office of Multicultural Affairs for the 1989-1990
academic year. He received an Academic Excellence
Award by the University. This award is presented to
outstanding minority students, and it is based on grades.
Andy was one of 69 students to have received this honor
per the academic year.
Andy's parents are LaVcrn Jenness and Elinore
(LaChance) Jenness. He and wife Patty, have two
children.
Immediate plans for Andy include a quick trip to New
York city to visit a brother. Upon returning to Oregon,
he will put the finishing touches on his application
efforts to the American Indian Graduate Center, for a
scholarship for the 1990-1991 school year. Andy has
applied for Law School admission at the University of
Oregon. He has also applied and been approved
admission into the Willamette University School of Law
