Farmers Home to Begin New
Guaranteed Community
Loan Program
(Portland, Oregon) - The Farmers Home Administra
tion is extending its guaranteed loans to community
program projects, thereby expanding its lending ability,
FmHA State Director Donald d. Thompson said today.
Until now, all of FmHA's loans for water and sewer
systems, fire stations, health clinics and other commu
nity facilities, have been direct loans from the agency to
the borrower.
"With the addition of guaranteed loans, we can now
assist communities that are able to qualify for commer
cial loans with the support of an FmHA guarantee, "
Thompson said.
Under this program, FmHa guarantees a loan made by
a bank, savings and loan, insurance company, Federal
Land Bank or other qualified lender against a certain
percentage of loss. Since the mid-1980's, guarantees
have become the major component of FmHA's farm
loan program, accounting for more than 50 percent of
all farm loans.
The 1990 fiscal year appropriations bill authorized
$74.5 million in guaranteed loans for water and waste
disposal loans and $23.9 million for other community
facilities on a national basis.
Prospective borrowers and lenders interested in the
program should contract Farmers Home Administration
District Offices at Ontario, Clackamas and Eugene.

Our Special Thanks!
To every one who supported me for my International
trip to Liverpool, England to play All-Star Football.
Also for all the fund-raisers and the ones who helped in
any way and for all the personal donations that were
sent to me. It was very much appreciated. The trip went
well and I had lots of fun there. I was glad to have
represented our Community and my Tribe and School.
This was an experience of a life time one I will never
forget.
Thank You !
