Housing News
If you are a resident of rural POLK county and you
own your home or have equity in a home you are buying
you may be able to receeive home repair assistance from
Polk County Housing Authority.
PCHA is currently doing a survey to find rural home
owners in Polk County who would qualify for their home
repair program. If there is enough interest in the
program, the PCHA would apply for a grant to help
qualifying homeowners with repairs and improvements
to their properties.
The assistance would be in the form of low-interest
loans with montyly payments. This program would
require a lien to be filed against the property as security
until the loan is paid back.
THis is a very good program to help county homeown
ers improve their homes and one which I would recom
mend to those of you who are in need of repairs or
upgrading but do not qualify for other loan or grant
programs.
This program, if enacted, will be open to all rural
residents of Polk County who qualify within program
guidelines.
Polk county residents who wish more information
should call Polk County Housing Authority at 623-8387
in Dallas, Oregon and ask for Rita Grady or Terri
Doerflcr.
There are programs available to residents of other
counties throughout Oregon. To find out about these
programs contact your local housing authority in your
city or county.
