FOR MORE INFORMATION, CONTACT: RUSS LENO CHAIRMAN v "ENERGY PROGRAM LOOKING FOR ELIGIBLE NATIVE AMERICANS" The Energy Programs at Community Action Agency of Yamhill Co. and Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency are looking for eligible Native American households for the Low income Weatherization Pro gram. Weatherization measures that are eligible for installa tion include general heat waste items such as caulking and weathcrstripping, furnace efficiency modifications, attic insulation, was insulation, underfloor insulation, and storm windows. The sole purpose of this program is to lower energy usage and therefore help lower your utility bills. To be eligible for the weatherization assistance program your household income must meet the guidelines set forth by the federal government. Those guidelines are as follows: Size Family Unit: Monthly Income: Annual Income: ENERGY ASSISTANCE The last day to sign up for Energy Assistance will be February 1, 1990. If you need to make an appointment or need any information concerning Energy Assistance, call Joann Mercier at 879-5211. "LELAND HOFENBREDL" Leland Hofenbredl, the son of Larry and Priscilla Hofenbredl, has received an invitation to attend an International All-Star Football Exchange in Liverpool, England, during the Spring Break in mid-March. To do this, Leland needs $1,399.00 to complete the cost for the trip. The Hofenbredl family and the Tribe are coordi nating a variety of fund raising activities to help Leland accomplish his goals. In addition, if any individuals would like to contribute to this effort by a direct dona tion, they can do so by contacting Candy Robertson or Jackie Colton at the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde at 879-5211. The following is a list of scheduled fund-raising events: - Bingo & Baked Food Sale, on Feb. 4th, following General Council Meeting. - Raffle tickets are currently being sold for 2 cords of wood, lcord of oak, being sold at $3.00 a ticket and 1 cord of fir, being sold at $2.00 a ticket, and they can be purchased at the Tribal Office, the drawing for the wood will be held at the General Council Meeting in March. (Free delivery in a 25 mile distance of Grand Ronde.) - Staff Luncheon at the Tribal Office in Grand Ronde on the 21st of February. Indian Tacos will be served at $3.00 a meal at 12:00 noon. - Any additional events will be announced at the General Council Meetings. - Donated items for raffle would be appreciated. At various times during the year temporary workers are needed for reforestation, precommercial thinning, fire trailing, slash burning and other Forestry related jobs. If anyone meeting the above qualifications is interested in that type of work please contact the Tribal Forestry Office at 879-5222. There are no positions at the present time.
