The Fifth annual Grand Ronde Pow-Wow will be August 18th -20th, 1989, once again at the Grand Ronde Elementary School. This is our first three-day Pow-Wow, and is sure to be an extra special event. To help our tribal members get ready for Pow-Wow, the Pow-Wow Committee is sponsoring craftdance classes every Tuesday night before Pow-Wow. The craft classes will begin at 5:30, and are an opportunity for kids and adults to learn how to make their own regalia. Wp will supply materials for necklaces, chokers and mocca sins. Dancing will begin at 6:30 each Tuesday, and V drumming will be provided by Jessie, Big Bear and friends. Well, listen to this: Friday night will be the royalty pageant. There are three contestants or Junior Miss Grand Ronde and two contestants vying for Miss Grand Ronde. This year the ' girls will be judged on their dancing skills as well as the : usual guidelines used in the past. Saturday morning you can start off the day showing off your running skills.
