Oregon Senator Mark Hatfield visited Nanitch Sahallie
on May 24th. The Senator toured the facility, met some
of the resident students and met with Tribal, Indian
Health Services and BIA representatives while enjoying
his favorite flavor of milkshake (our secret), prepared by
Nanitch Sahallie cook, Kathy Tom.
USDA FOOD DISTIBUTION
DATES
The USDA Food Distribution for Salem will be June
13, 14, & 15, 1989 from 8:00 to 430. The Siletz Food
Distribution will be June 20, 21 & 22 1989.
Please keep your appointments as it helps us get our
report completed on time. We would like to Thank
Archie Nelson, Nicki Worm an, Bob, Scotty Williams,
Stacey Williams, Barbara Keene, Louis Keene, Steve
Rife, Frank Rilatos, for loading and UNLOADING the
Trucks.
We would like to remind you that you MAY NOT
RECEIVE FOOD COMMODITIES AND FOOD
STAMPS AT THE SAME TIME. THE PENALTY IS
6 MONTHS SUSPENSION FROM THE USDA
COMMODITY PROGRAM AND PAYING BACK
THE FOOD STAMP AMOUNT TO THE STATE.
We are sorrv that we have to Ration vour Food Com
modities. Due to the increase of our clients, the food
orders have not been able to cover everyone. Hopefully
by the July shipment we can accommodate every family
to the maximum limit.

WHO MAY VOTE:
Any duly enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes
of the Grand Ronde Community of Oregon who will be
18 years of age or older on the date of any scheduled
elections shall have the right to vote in the election.
"Duly enrolled member" shall mean any person who
has been accepted as a member of the Tribe in accor
dance with the Tribal enrollment ordinance adopted
pursuant to Article V of the Grand Ronde Constitition
or in accordance with section 7 of the Grand Ronde
Restoration Act.
ANNUAL ELECTIONS:
At the Tribal Council election in September 1989, the
three (3) members receiving the highest number of votes
shall be elected to a three (3) year term.
ELECTION BOARD: Sharon Hanson, Ivanetta Cook,
Jeanne Larsen, Lois Butler, Jackie Provost and Darlene
Aaron.
ABSENTEE BALLOTS
Absentee Ballots must be mailed or hand delivered to
the Election Board at the Grand Ronde Tribal Office,
P.O. Box 38, Grand Ronde, Oregon 97347, and deliv
ered no later than 6:00 p.m. on September 10, 1987.

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
Position Title: Forestry Aide (Temporary)
Salary: $6.94Hour, 40 hours per week (there are no
fringe benefits with this position.)
Length of Position: Approximately 11 weeks.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Be at least 18 years old.
2. Be in good physical condition.
3. Have a valid driver's license and a good driving
record.
Duties:
1. Help maintain the grounds and buildbgs.
2. Assist the staff at the forestry facility and in the
field.
TribalIndian preference applies.

CEMETERY COMMITTEE
The Cemetery Committee would like to thank every
