SUBSISTENCE SALMON DISTRIBUTION
The Spring supply of subsistence salmon should be
arriving within the next two weeks. Distribution of the
fish will occur following the day we pick the fish up.
This is determined by the fish hatchery from which we
receive the salmon. When sufficient numbers of fish
reach the hatchery to meet our 2000 pound supply, they
will contact us. Any fish not distributed on the first day,
will be given out on Saturday, June 10th, 10 a.m. to 1
p.m., at the Tribal Office. To confirm this date and
time, please call the office at 879-5211 on Friday, June
9th, especially if you are traveling from out of town.
Since the first distribution date is uncertain at press
time, you can call the office and request to be placed on
a contact list. If you leave your name and telephone
number, we will contact you when we know the distribu
tion date and hours. However, please remember that
the following distribution guidelines are in place:
1) Persons picking fish up for another tribal member
must have a signed note from that person.
2) Two pounds of fish will be given for each tribal
member in the family. . , ' '
3) The fish will be distributed on a first come, first serve
basis.
1989 HUNTING TAGS

1989 Hunting information. This will include the applica
tions for applying for the General Season Bear tags and

If you know of tribal members interested in the hunts,
but who does not receive the tribal newsletter, please let

SLOW MOVERS CLUB
Al Terp and Monte Ring began walking toward a
healthier life today. The first day they walked a mile.
Believe it or not, it's really true, I know because I was
there. Hi! My name is Monte and Tm a diabetic -among
other things.
I know its hard to believe but its true, Al and I started
our walking program this morning. We met at the
Bonanza at 6 am., had our coffee and stepped out into a
new way of life. "A healthy one."
It was great!! The air was crisp, clear and dean. The
geese were talking and it seemed as if all Gods Creation
was waking up and we were a part of it. "It was a great
time to be alive," we decided that by walking each day
maybe we would stay alive a little bit longer.
Al and I would like to extend an invitation to the rest of
you "Slow Movers" to come and walk with us. We're
not fast but we are persistent.
It's a great feeling and besides that "It's good for you".
For more information call Monte at 879-5211.
We will be expecting you,
Monte and Al

Dear Fellow Tribal Members & Friends,
Our tribal membership now totals 2457. Congratula
tions to all our new members! The enrollment program
is required to provide statistics on tribal members. The
statistics provided usually DO NOT include any per
sonal information, such as names, address, etc The
different tribal programs such as Social Services,
NewsletterHunting & Fishing, Health, Housing, and
Education sometimes ask for a list of names with the
address of Tribal Members.
I will provide the names and address of members
ONLY to the TRIBAL PROGRAMS, BUREAU OF
INDIAN AFFAIRS, OR INDIAN HEALTH AGEN
CIES. Without a written release of information from
you, any outside agencies will not be provided with
personal information. The only Information within the
enrollment records that is public information is your roll
number, name, date of birth, sex, and possession of
Indian Blood.
The statistics that are currently provided by the enroll
ment program are based on enrolled members only. As
some benefits may be provided to non-enrolled spouses
and children, it is important for me to document the
family units. Last months article asked for your help in
listing and identifying family members by completing the
form below. Due to space limitations, the form was not
included with the article; however is provided in this
issue.
P1ee Est vogrself. gpogsc and all vour children
oaths form . This information will provide the statis
tics that future planning will be based on. I will also be
able to check the enrollment status of all family mem- .,
bers. Use a separate sheet if necessary.
I am in the process of developing certificates of Indian -blood
in laminated wallet size. As the I.D. cards are not
issued to children under 11, the C.I.B. will provide the .
necessary information for them. A certificate of Indian
blood contains a members name, date of birth, roll
number, and possession of Indian blood. The wallet size
ones will also contain the name and address, and phone
number of the tribal office. I expect to issue the wallet
size cards in July. If you have any questions on the
enrollment status of yourself or family members, please
contact me in care of the tribal office.
Sincerely,
Margo George-Mercier
