PROGRAM: NANITCH SAHALLIE, an American Indian Youth Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Program RESPONSIBILITIES: Insures the active participation of the client's family significant others as an integral part of the recovery process. Applies and coordinates the appropriate techniques and treatment modalities. Serves as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in a holistic approach to treatment. v DUTIES: -To coordinate counseling services for the family significant others of the client as a part of the treatment process. -Serves as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in planning and counseling services. -Counsels the familysignificant others of the client during the client's inpatient stay. -Maintains contact and communication with the progress of the familysignificant others. -Provides direct care services. -To identify the appropriate resources and agencies in the client's community. -Maintains client record keeping practices in accordance with requirements. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of three years sobriety, if recovering. Prefer Master's level degree in related field or BABS with two years family counseling experience working in a clinical setting. Demonstrated knowledge of substance abuse and chemical dependency. Must have reliable transportation and valid Driver's License. RESPONSIBILITIES: To maintain a secure environment for adolescents in an intensive residential substance abuse program. To follow and carry out the plans during the designated work sched ule that will insure the well-being of the adolescents. DUTIES: -Maintain log book. -Regularly monitor facility security. -Regularly monitor status of client's whereabouts and compliance with established schedules. -Ensure patients' adherence to treatment schedules, in cluding satisfactory completion of daily patient chore as signments. -Supervise general cleanup when scheduled. -Inform counselors of client rule or treatment infractions, inappropriate client behavior, etc -Take immediate action when clients have broken program rules, follow through by interviewing clients involved. -Take immediate action when an emergency arises by taking the necessary steps to insure the safety of the client and facility. -Demonstrate a positive role model behavior. -Other related duties as assigned by the manager. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Graduate or G.E.D. Two years experience in working in a residential setting. Must be flexible to work varied shifts and on week-ends. Ability to follow treatment protocol and maintain a client log. Demonstrate positive role model behavior. Current CPR certification or must be able to obtain within 14 days of hire on employee's own time. Minimum of 2 years sobriety, if recovering. DUTIES: -To participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in planning, counseling and therapeutic services. -Provides individual and group therapy. -Maintains client record keeping practice in accordance with the program requirements. -Acts as a member of a multi-disciplinary team for planning, implementing, and directing prevention intervention activities for youth which stress development of copingdecision making skills. Such activities may include, but are not limited to, wilderness survival activities, various constructive leisure-time activities (i.e. skating, bowling, swimming, basketball, other organized team sports, and arts-crafts) -Leads discussions and presents lectures and films for group sessions. -Maintains the professional standards and follows the treatment policies and procedures of IHS, State and .. certification regulations. -Demonstrates a positive role model behavior. QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer BABS in related field with experience counseling youth; or AA in related field and three years experience counseling the chemically dependant; or Certified Substance Abuse Counselor and three years experience counseling the chemically dependant; or the equivalent of Certified Substance Abuse counselor and three years experience counseling the chemically dependant.
