Tag Return Deadlines Second Season Elk - Dec. 9 General Bear - Dec. 14 Muzzleloader Deer - Dec. 26 ENROLLMENT REPORT Dear Fellow Tribal Members and Friends, During the last few months, I have realized that many of my clients have not documented their possession of other tribal blood. If one of your parents is a member of another federally recognized tribe, your possession of other tribal Indian blood may be included in your total Indian blood quantum. The membership roll will show a total Indian blood quantum only, but your possession of other tribal blood will be designated in your file. I will also notify the BIA of the included blood. To include your possession of other tribal blood in your .total Indian blood quantum, you must provide a certifi cate of Indian blood from the tribe your parent is a member of. The certificate of Indian blood will list the tribal affiliation, the name of the member, their date of birth, roll or membership number, and tribal blood quantum. If your mother possesses 38 Rosebud-Sioux Indian blood, and your father is 18 Grand Ronde, you would possess 316 Rosebud-Sioux and 116 Grand Ronde, or a total Indian blood quantum of (416) 14. Guidelines: LITTLE MISS GRAND RONDE 1) Must not be under 7 years old and not over 13 years old by August 18, 1988. 2) Must be an enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde. 3) Must be able to attend all activities, parades, fund raisers and scheduled appearances. 4) Must be able to attend all organizational meetings, unless excused in advance. 5) You must be drug and alcohol free. Any misconduct will result in disqualification from the court. 6) You must be willing, by your behavior, to represent your Tribe in the best possible manner. 7) You are expected to show good judgement and not participate in activities that would bring adverse public ity to the Tribe, while you are a member of the court. 8) If at any time during the year you become pregnant, you will be disqualified and will lose an title won. 9) You are advised to acquire a sponsor - grandmother, mother, aunt, or friend - that can help you with the pageant activities. This is not a requirement, but maybe of help to you. 10) You must have a ribbon dress, moccasins and leggings. 11) You must have a willingness to dance, (assistance will be offered if needed). 12) You must have a willingness to speak in front of a large group. 13) You are allowed to miss only three out of 15 - 20 events during the scheduled time. 14) You will be required to make at least one item of your regalia, and be able to explain why you chose that article and what it means to you. 15) You must be fully dedicated to the activities of the pageant. DEADLINE FOR ENTERING IS APRIL 28, 1989. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE. Guidelines: Miss Grand Ronde 1) Must be under 14 years old and not over 19 years old by August 18, 1988. 2) Must be an enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde. 3) Must be single with no dependents 4) Must be able to attend all activities, parades, fund raisers and scheduled appearances. 5) Must be able to attend the organizational meetings, unless excused IN ADVANCE. 6) Drug and alcohol free. Any misconduct will result in disqualification from the court. 7) Willing, by your behavior, to represent your Tribe in the best possible manner. 8) Expected to show good judgement and not partici pate in activities that would bring adverse publicity to the Tribe, while you are a member of the court. 9) You will be disqualified from the court and will forfeit any title won, if at any time during the year you become pregnant. 10) You are required to have a ribbon dress, moccasins and leggings for scheduled events. 11) It is recommended that you have a sponsor to help you with all activities. 12) You must have a willingness to speak in front of a large group of people. 13) You must have a willingness to dance, (assistance with dance instruction will be offered if needed). 14) You will be required to make at least one item of your regalia, and be able to explain why you chose what you made and what is means to you. 15) You will be disqualified if you miss three scheduled events, out of about 15 20. 16) You must be fully dedicated to the activities of the pageant. I also have the address's of vital records units in other states if you need to write for a birth certificate. If you are interested in participating in the 1989 Royalty Court please take the following steps: 3 Fill the personal information sheet out and the parental consent form (if you are a minor) and return to the above address to bring into the office. Please check with me if you are not sure if you are enrolled. It only takes a minute for me to check. If you are not enrolled, I will be happy to assist you complete the application procedure.
