(ft Paul Ortega PAGEANT (CONTINUED) The 1987 Royalty Queen, Cindy Martin and Mario George presented Mark Mercier with a Pendleton Blanket for all his leadership and knowledge he has given this Tribe the past few years. A give-away was also held on behalf of the outgoing royalty. The Pow Wow Committee presented the two girls with Tribal jackets for appreciation of their hard work as representatives for the Tribe at many pow wows, parades and other . events during the year. Thanks to Mario and Cindy for doing such a wonderful job. At 7:00 p.m. on August 20, 1988, the 1987 Miss Grand Ronde, Cindy Martin, crowed the 1988 Jr. Miss Grand Ronde, ERICA MERCIER, and the 1988 Miss Grand Ronde, MICHAEL CHILDERS. These two girls will represent the Tribe at all 1988-89 pow wows, parades and other events. Congratulations to each of these girls for their hard work this last summer and the best Thank You!!! The Royalty Committee members, Joann McClary and Tammy Fry thanks everyone who helped with the many floats, meetings and the pageant. Thanks to each judge for their undivided attention during the pageant, and their ability to judge so fairly, and the committee thanks parents andor sponsors of each and every girl including last year's queens.
