ORIENTATION MTG.
FOR ALL STUDENTS
An orientation meeting for all Higher Education and
Adult Vocational Training students who will be attend
ing school during the 1988-89 academic year. The
meeting will be held on SEPTEMBER 9th, (Friday)
1988, at Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Bldg.
3, Room 275; from 9:00 am till 1:00 pm. The purpose of
this meeting is to review your applications for the
upcoming '88-89 school year. Discussion will also focus
on students accepting NDSL and GSL loans and College
Work Study. We will also have in attendance a repre
sentative from Chemeketa's Office of Financial Aid to
discuss budget changes and reporting responsibilities
regarding IRS filings.
Despite the fact that covering such issues as student
responsibilities and progress are boring topics, these
items will again be discussed, due to the fact many
students do not submit necessary reports in a timely
manner. A new change will be undertaken this year.
Please plan on attending. No acceptions will be made
for students who do not fulfill their responsibilities and
reports during the 1988-'89 school year. Come and
learn what those requirements are. Call Dean or
Tammy to confirm your attendance - (503) 879-5211.
PRE-SCHOOL
The JOM education program is in the process of
identifying children from 3 to 5 years old who are
eligible for preschool services.
At this time, the program is also beginning to plan
activities for the coming school year. Possibilities
include sponsoring a pre-school perhaps one or two
times a week. If you have ideas on activities and services
the JOM program could conduct, please call Donnie
Curtis at 879-5211.
The JOM program is also interested in knowing if your
child is already in headstart, or if you need further
information on headstart programs.
The Grand Ronde JOM program services are available
to American IndianAlaskan Native children who reside
in the Willamina, Sheridan and Grand Ronde areas, and
who are not enrolled in the Silctz JOM program.
