I don't know how the red sock got in with the white diapers, but Joyce wore the prettiest pink diapers." "I remember, in the evening, there were boxing matches. It seemed like they really turned out to be real big boxing matches because the people lost their tempers, getting mad if they were losing. Then the families got involved. There was a lot of boxing"... Then I remember going to silent movies. I can't remember if you had to pay or not, but it was hard to keep quiet because you had to have somebody read to you. So, if everybody yelling, you'd be yelling. If everybody laugh, you'd laugh'... "I remember the food tasted so good. Especially the coffee early in the morn ing. Because I was real small, my folks would let me drink coffee because I got up early"... "I remember one time, I was baby sitting. I didn't realize my younger brother was gone. I remember him saying when coming in mom playing. 'I gave our dad ten gallons of gas. ' Here, he had put water in our gas tank. I realty got a switching that night" - Kathryn Harrison "One time, Velma would go and pick hops in the morning and I'd go in the afternoon. So this day I cooked some beans. So, I had a kettle of beans boiling on the stove and every once in awhile, I'd taste to see if they were done. Well, then there were a lot of other children around. I remember Aunt Maude and her children at home. Well, we all would taste the beans. Finally, when Aunt came back, she looked at the beans, and said, 'Oh, thats not enough to eat!!! You better peel some potatoes.' So, I got busy and peeled some potatoes so we'd have something to eat " -ILADOWD -Ivanetta Cook - fi --- .-n -Jr.f - ' i I J?-- v- L to R: Harold Mercier, Tommy Misfelt, Dean Mercier and Gordon Linton.
