ENROLLMENT FW POW WOW
ENROLLMENT REPORT
Dear Fellow Tribal Members and Friends;
I hope that the New Year is filled with joy for you and
your families. Strong families are needed to contribute
to a productive tribe.
I have started to enter our enrollment records into a
computer program for more efficient service. I hope to
keep the information up-to-date, but I cannot without
your help. I have requested that clients inform me of
name and address changes. Many have sent their
current information in, and I really appreciate it. Those
who haven't please do so.
An accurate membership roll is very important to our
tribe. It is the source of documentation used to deter
mine the amount of federal aid allocated to tribal
governments. It is also the source that determines our
tribal needs for programs. I am requested to provide
statistics on age groups and residency for the health,
education, housing, and social services programs. If I do
not have the correct information to compile, an inaccu
rate needs assessment could be made. To benefit from
tribal programs, you must first be counted.
I have been working with the Enrollment Committee to
correct our tribal roll. Deceased members must be
documented, birth dates and blood quantums corrected,
and names changed. There are set procedures for each
area of enrollment correction. I will gladly explain any
area and send update forms on request. If I can assist
you in acquiring an address for a tribe, vital records unit,
etc., please let me know.
The tribal I.D. cards are still being issued to members
who are 11 years and older. Appointments are recom
mended, or phone ahead to be sure that an issuing
officer is in. Remember that our office is closed from 12
noon to 1:00 p.m. If you have any questions, please call
or write to me in care of our tribal office.
Sincerely,
Margo George
Enrollment Director

FISH AND WILDLIFE
Tribal members will need to pick up their 1988 Hunting
and Fishing stickers at the office. Tribal members,
please remember that to be eligible to hunt and fish in
1988, you must have the annual sticker.
Unfortunately, about 40 tribal members have lost their
hunting privileges from January 1, 1988 to January 1,
1989. These people failed to return their hunting tags by
the designated deadline.
Tribal members are required to return their tags
because the tribe is required to report to the Oregon
Department of Fish and Wildlife on the number of tags
issued and the number of kills annually. These tribal
members have lost their hunting privileges only and not
their fishing privileges. If you have not turned in your
hunting tag, or reported a kill with your tribal tag, please
do so as soon as possible.
The Fish and Wildlife Committee and Tribal Council
have made some changes in the Tribal Fishing, Hunting
and Gathering Ordinance. These changes will be
incorporated into the Tribal Handbook. A new hand
book will be given to tribal members when they pick up
their annual stickers.
