ENROLLMENT
Dear Fellow Tribal Members and
Friends .
The Enrollment office will begin
to issue tribal I. D. cards this
month. The cards are photo
I.D.. so tribal members must be
present to receive one. At this
time, there are no plans to is
sue cards to out of state mem
bers, unless thoy are visiting
the area. If you live out of
state. I will issue a certifi
cate of Indian blood request.
The I.D. Cards will not be is
sued to any member without an
enrollment number. If you or a
relative have not received a
roll number, please contact me.
An applicants file must be re
viewed by the Enrollment Commit
tee, and then approved by the
Tribal Council. The numbers are
not issued at the time an appli
cation is completed. The en
rollment proceedure takes ap
proximately three weeks to com
plete. It is impossible to operate the
I.D. camera in the enrollment
office because of limited space.
Since I must set the camera up
elsewhere. I am designating
Thursdays and Fridays to issue
I.D. cards at tho depot office.
The hours will be from 9 a.m. to
4 p.m. (Don . t forget . that the
office is closed for lunch from
12 noon to 1 p.m.) -Exceptions
could be made for visiting out-of-state
members.
I have scheduled visits to cit
ies .in the six county area to
issue I.D. cards. The month of
April is listed on the community
calendar. I would welcome any
suggestions for facilities to
issue the I.D. cards in Washing
ton, Yamhill and Polk counties
in the month of May. Because of
limited funds, I am trying to
schedule space with little or no
rental foe. If you know of a
Community location, please con
tact me .
My thanks to all of the people
who are involved in assisting
with the I.D. card outreach.
Your help is greatly appreci
ated! I am planning to be
available at our tribe. s annual
Memorial Day gathering to issue
cards for visiting members. I
also hope to be able to issue
cards during the annual Pow-wow.
Please watch the newsletter for
dates and times.
I have been working on collect
ing information for a tribal
data base. A computer program
will be used to store the infor
mation. I am currently being
trained in computer use, so I
may be out of the office on cer
tain days. Because the schedule
varies, it is Impossible to post
these training dates. If you
are from out of town, please
call ahead to make sure that I
am in. If I am out, the secre
tary will inform you of my re
turn. I will gladly return your
message, and make an appointment
with you. If you have any ques
tions on the enrollment proce
dure, please contact me at the
tribal office.
Sincerely, Margo George
