Not only are volunteers needed to give the best possible service during distributions but also to match the USDA contract. The Tribe's matching portion consists partially of Revenue Sharing and Timber funds, partially of In-Kind (other personnel and volunteer services). A dollar amount is assigned to each in-kind hour; quarterly, it is totalled. To illustrate, during the final quarter of fiscal year 1986, approximately $2,400 was contributed by Siletz members, Grand Ronde members, tribal employees and other interested person. We thank all those who contribute throughout the year to make the program possible. During the month of September the following individuals donated their time and support: Randy Martin, Edward Winter, Franklin Charley, Leanne Drum, Reynold Lane, Jerry Belgrade, Jim Butler, Diane Lane, Eugene Hudson, Tony Lane, Steve Rife and Dorothy Lane. The three USDA-a-teers : Jim, Diane and Eugene, worked nonstop all three days at the Salem distribution. In spite of hunger, thirst and aching backs, they kept boxing food and sending clients home content. Thank you, every minute volunteered to the program is sincerely appreciated. All our volunteers are special people and should have your acknowledgement too.
