GENERAL MANAGERS REPORT As you will notice there Is a format change In the Tribal Newsletter. We are implementing these changes now to prepare for fall when we will be publishing a consolidated newsletter to Include information from Tribal programs, council, and other pertinent news in one monthly newsletter. These changes are being implemented for two reasons; one, in the fall we will have a staff position on board who's responslli ties will include the monthly publication of a newsletter, and two, the printing of individual newsletters by departments is no longer cost effective and tends to over work the copy machines. We ask that you be patient with U9 during this transition period. Recently Mr. Alan Ham, (Grand Ronde Tribal Member) was hired as the Tribal Social Worker. Alan will begin his duties later this month. He is leaving his post with Indian Health Service at Neah Bay to return to work for the Tribe. Additionally, Mr. Don Hudson (SiletzGrand Ronde) was hired as the Tribal Social Researcher. Don has been working as the editor of the Sjjetz News, and will begin work with us on August 18, 1986. Initially, these two individuals will make up the Tribal Social Services Department. We expect it will take a little time to get the program on Its feetand to become fully integrated into the Tribal community, however we do expect to be well underway by October 1986. Please try to come by or call these individuals to get aquainted. Some of you may have noticed different voices when you call the Cemetery or the Depot offices. Those belong to Angle Childers at the Cemetery office, and Lydia Hostler at the Depot office. Angle's position is provided by the Silet'z JTPA Work Experience program, and Lydia' s position is provided by the Siletz JTPA Summer Youth Employment program. It is a pleasure to have both Angle and Lydia with us, they add a lot to both offices. We would also like to thank Terry Russell, Siletz Salem Area JTPA Counselor, for his help in making these positions available for us. I-- As I mentioned previously, the newsletter will be undergoing some changes In the next few months, so If you have Ideas or criticisms, please give me a call at 879-5215 or 879-5253.
