Past education activities taking place during March Included: - Contacting all Higher Education and Employment Assistance (AVT) students for end of Winter Term grades, verification of Spring Term enrollment and a check on Financial Aid Forms (FAF) for 1986-87 school year. - Met with Higher Education Officer and Employment Assistance Specialists at the BIA Portland Area Office, to review student flies for completeness and compliance. - Met with Financial Aid Officer and Advisors at Western Oregon State College, Oregon State University, Clark Community College, Chemeketa Community College, Lane Community College. Number of Higher Education and Employment Assistance (AVT) students completing Winter Term 1985 are 7 Higher Education, 1 withdrawal; 4 AVT. Number of students attending Spring Term are 6 Higher Education, 1 withdrawal; 3 AVT, 1 withdrawal. A REMINDER To present and future applicants for Higher Education and Employment Assistance (AVT) from the Tribe, if you've filled out the necessary documents and application forms for Tribal assistance, your Job is still not complete. YOU (If you haven't already done so) need to file your contacting your Financial Aid Officer at the collegeschool you will be attendnlng. NEW students. In addition to filing your FAF for 86-87. you need to also begin your application for admission to a collegeschool. Also, you NEED TO IDENTIFY A PROGRAM OF STUDY that you wish to pursue. This is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY and will not be done by the Tribal Education Specialist. .
