The Memorial Day Gathering at St. Michael's was attended by over 100 tribal members and friends. Gifts were given toi Pauline Johnson, Eldest tribal member present, Theresa Childers, Youngest tribal member present, & Bud Leno of ElMonte, CA, tribal member who traveled the longest distance to attend the gathering. The raffle prizes and winners: Seafood Basket - Les Houck, Belt Buckle - Les Houck, 50-50 Drawing - Lois Butler The Baked Food Sale netted $45.00. The money will go to the PowWow fund. We would like to thank those who donated the prizes for the raffle drawing. Val Grout - Seafood Basket, Bud Leno - Belt Buckle, Jim & Wilma Butler - Cutting Board, LaVerne Hosford - Macrame Wall Hanging, and those who stayed after to help clean-up. The June General Meeting at St. Michael's was well attended. Cooper Consultants reported on the progress of the Reservation Plan, Gary Forester of NAP0LS reported on the progress with the Tribal Court procedures. He also discussed "What Does a Reservation mean to you?" Gary Forester and Cooper Consultants both thanked the previous Interim Council and present Tribal Council for their hard work on the Reservation Plan. The 50-50 drawing was won by Dennis Petrequin of Cooper Consultants. Dennis donated his winnings to the PowWow fund. We would like to thank everyone for their donations of time and money in helping with the fund raising for our 1st Annual PowWow, it is greatly appreciated.
