Health The Health survey is now being implemented by the Outreach Workers, Kathy Olson, Georgene Gillespie, AnnaBelle Hamm, and Diana Harrison. If you have not been contacted by one of the Outreach Workers, or the Health Clerk for an appointment, please call us collect at the Tribal Health Office, the phone number is 879-5211, giving us directions to your home or a phone number where you can be reached. This survey is of the utmost importance to determine the needs of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, and what services will be offered once the survey is complete. If you know of any of the Grand Ronde members living in the six county service area, (Multnomah, Washington, Polk, Yamhill, Marion, and Tillamook) that have not been contacted for the Health Survey, please have them contact us at the Tribal Health Department. We have not yet hired the Community Health Nurse, due to some programmatic restrictions. It is hopeful that this position will be filled shortly. If you have any concerns about your health care and the services being provided to you, please call, willing to assist you. The renovation for the Health Program is near completion. Kennedy Health Director Parent CommitteeTitle IVa Report A Pre-Grant writing workshop was conducted by Marion Boushie from Center III at Wilsonville, OR, October 31, 1984. She went over the grant proposal and the changes in the rules and regulations. Some of the changes included selection of the parent committee instead of electing. We would like input: if you would like to have a workshop on the rules and regulations, and the roles of the Parent Committee and LEA please call: 879-5210 by November 30, 1984 and leave a message or ask for the Title IVa Coordinator. Parent Committee members are: Jayne Mercier, Chairperson, Mike Larsen, Vice-Chairman, Linda Mercier, Secretary, Toni Mercier, Student Representative, Darlene Kepford, Teacher Representative. Members: Lennis Mercier, Margo George, Priscilla Hofenbredl. Ex-Officio Members: Eula Petite, Shelley Adams. It was suggested at our last Parent Committee meeting that each Parent Committee member be responsible for carrying out and measuring one goal. ' Goals were assigned to each member, yours is attached. We'd like to go over them before the December 6th regular meeting. December 6th, Amanda Clyburn from Washington D.C. will be here to go over our programs progress. The Title IVa. Coordinator resigned and the position was opened to applications, which were received at the District Office in Willamina. The closing date for taking applications was November 14, 1984 and the interviews for this positior.will be November 19th 1984. Volunteers from the Parent Committee for the interview committee are: Eula Petite, Margo George, Mike Larsen, Linda Mercier. Tutorial assistance has now begun in all schools, and Cultural activities are being planned. A day of counseling was done with the High School students by Mike Larsen and Margo George.
