SECTION 8 PROGRAM
Attention Tribal members residing in the Salem area. The City of Salem
Housing Authority has contacted the tribe to relay the following information.
The Salem Housing Authority will be accepting applications for the Section
8 Program, for families needing three bedrooms, at 7:30 a.m., Thursday
October 18, 1984, (the minimum family size will be one parent and two children
of the opposite sex). Section 8 assistance can be provided for rental units
in both Salem and Keizer.
Income limits for Section 8 Programs is based on gross annual income:
Family Size Income Limit
3 11,350
4 12,600
5 13,600
6 14,600
Applicants will be placed on a waiting list and will receive assistance
in the order that thoy apply.
Section 8 applications continue to be accepted for families requiring
four and five bedrooms. Households of all sizes may also apply for assisted
rentals owned and managed by the authority.
On October 19, 1984 tbe authority will return to regular application hours
of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Salem Housing Authority is located at 360

Welcome Aboard the New Health Staff!!
On October 16, 1984 the Health Program Staff will be starting. We would
like to welcome the new staff who will be located in the (Depot) Tribal
Office.

At this time the Community Health Nurse position is in the interview
process and there's a likelyhood we will have a Nurse on board by November
1, 1984.
The health staff will be receiving training the first week and the Out
reach Workers will bo out in the service area contacting' the Tribal mem
bership the week starting October 22nd.
