AN INVITATION
Tribal members are invited to attend the 2nd Regional meeting of the Commission
on Indian Services, October 23, 1984, from 1:30 p.m. -4:00-p.m. in St. Michael's cafeteria,
Grand Ronde, OR.
These meetings have a three-fold purpose:
1) To define and report on the Commission on Indian Services activities on behalf of
Oregon's Indian community;
2) To Identify key Issues and concerns from each community for inclusion in the CIS
report to the Legislature, and,
3) To report on the Human Resources Assessment which grev out of concerns expressed at
the 1982 Regional Meetings.
The Commission on Indian Services recently agreed to expand Its membership to in
clude the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, as veil as other federally-recognized Tribes.
A bill draft is being readied for introduction to the Legislature in early 1985.
These CIS meetings are ooen to the public and tribal members are urged to attend.

If you have not completed an application for Indian Health Service contract health
services (individual application for health care services) within the last 6 months,
please do so as soon as possible. Cheryl Kennedy at the Tribal (Depot) office
has application forms and can assist you in completing them. A current application
must be on file with IHS, in order to determine eligibility for services and in
order to expedite the issuance of a contract health service authorization.
